A Passion for Food

Unilever is one of the world’s largest global businesses with a reach and influence that stretches across the continents. Their food division is huge and forms a major part of the company’s revenues.

Jon Croft Editions was commissioned by Antione de Saint-Affrique, the President of Unilever Foods, to publish a large format recipe book from their people and communities on the ground around the world. A collection of stories and recipes that celebrated Unilever’s commitment to sustainable small holder farming.

It was a huge logistical task to gather in all the recipes from farmers from five continents with a timescale determined by a publishing date that coincided with Unilever’s global company conference in London.


With the book photographed by Mike Cooper, edited, designed and printed, the beautiful finished product was delivered from the book binders in time to be presented to the assembled international Unilever management teams at the opening ceremony.

The foreword to A Passion for Food was written by Ertharin Cousin, Executive Director, World Food Programme.
